"ChaNan brings people home to their innate truth, using different techniques, energetically and pyscho spiritually"
Lizzi
I invite you to get a cup of tea or a glass of water and let me introduce myself;
I am a dreamer, healer, therapist, teacher, highly-sensitive intuitive... a wayfinder, a gardener, a creator and holder of spaces - both in our bodies and for individuals, groups and organisations. I am highly trained and relish in new learning.
I am a liminal being - I love the edges both physically in the landscape and in us: this is where change and growth occurs; it is where our innate wildness seeds into our domesticated landscapes. I am a writer and a spinner of both thread and words, a weaver of thread and energy. I mix my metaphors and refuse to be put into a specific shape
The questions that keep me alive, orientated and aligned are:
How can I become more integrated into our Earth's ecology?
How can I help other humans do this?
By remaining true to this I feel we can then really explore the landscape and terrain of the portals in our bodies - and there are so many internal worlds for us to explore!
My healing journey started in my early twenties (I am now in my 50's) when I was exploring lands on the other side of the world and became aware of energy outside of our bodies - of Elemental Beings who live within the landscape all around us - and discovered that my body is a landscape of Earth.
This has directed me ever since. Questing to deepen my relationship as a human being rooted in the landscape of where I call home, I listen and learn about the landscape, find the sources of my local rivers, listen to and am awed by the geology of the land on which I live, as it is there, the sung stories of the land reside.
From a very young age I have worked with Altars, picking up stones, finding crystals and feathers and creating little spaces for the other to live. These may be simple and momentary or deeper and held longer for more potent purposes. I find this helps to hold me, my dreams and intents and provides one of the foundations for my life. It gives me a deeper focus.
I live in Mid Wales, a land that adopted me over 27 years ago when we lived amongst the Mountains of the North, subsequently travelled south to the Dyfi estuary and are now between the Ceredigion coast and the age-old mountains of the Cambrian on a little smallholding where I deepen my relationship with the elemental beings who live here. I am learning how to create harmony and growth, how the 'garden' grows me while understanding more about my relationship to soil, the mycorrhizal network and my dreams, as well as the plants, birds, bees and furry beings that live around us.
I love learning and reading, and I am political. My interests and trainings have been varied and centred deeply around herbalism and stones, yoga, yoga nidra and our bodies...
I love the magic and mystery that we hold in ourselves. Women's health - especially in relationship to fertility cycles and, latterly being with (the at-times hardcore) initiation of my peri-menopausal and menopausal gateways. Part of this has been really being with my nervous system and understanding how being highly sensitive, laid some deep complex foundations in my early years. As I have worked with these, uncovering them, rebuilding some of them and welcoming others I have discover more about my interactions with life, and how I find resilience.
All of the training and self development work I have done has been around listening to the gateways that are available to me: these gateways that open my body to explore deeper aspects of my being and, when the time is right, take the medicine I have integrated and embodied and weaving them into my offerings and holding of space.
I have had an over 30 year relationship with the Sacred Fire of Izatchalatlan alongside my husband. I am consistently in awe of the simplicity of how sitting in front of a ritual fire and offering heartfelt prayers and songs as we journey through the elements as a community, brings deep connection to the ancient parts of ourselves.
In my menopause I have stepped back, listening to my bodies request to rest my nervous system. As a result, this has allowed me to develop to a deeper relationship with the Fire in myself.
I had a rich seven year apprenticeship with a Medicine Woman who resides in the US and loves earth deeply. She taught me how to use my light body to work with other people regardless of where they are in the world. Through a series of ceremony, she held me as I quested my relationship other realms and the ancestors who prayed for us. She deepened my understanding of minerals, rocks and crystals and since then, I have grown into my relationship with Crystal Skulls (whom I first met over 30 years ago).
Along the way I have woven in beloved herbal forays and foraging. Plants have been with me ever since I made potions in the garden as a child.
Eliot Cowan formally opened my relationship with the Five Elements in accordance with the plant world with his Plant Spirit Medicine training. This ignited a deep respect and love for Ancient Chinese Medicine, which has been my constant daily companion for the past 20 years as I interact and learn with them every day.
This formed the base of my Kinesiology practice as I worked within the School of Creative Kinesiology. I journeyed along the route from foundation to professional therapist via training in somatic body work, listening and witnessing. Even though I have stepped back from my kinesiology practice now, I remain a senior teacher for the School.
The Five Elements have returned in depth and utter beauty as I have travelled the wisdom roads of Lorie Eve Dechar and Benjamin Fox.
I have found great teachings in their community and 2025 completed brilliant Alchemical Mentorship. This has brought me to a new depth and resonance with the Five Elements and this ancient way of working.
I love how all these bits of me make up my whole... and that whole is continually seeking the other bits of me that are still hidden and are waiting to be unearthed, reunited or refined within myself. And this is a key piece I hold for others at this point: how we weave in as much of ourselves as we can to create a beautiful book of our bodies, not becoming overly focused on one word, sentence, paragraph, page or chapter.
I love writing poetry and prose, singing badly, all things fibre spinning and weaving really float my boat. I relish sewing, creating, honouring the cycles and seasons of the land and myself and walking with my dog whilst foraging for whatever is in season.
Much of my focus is how we, as humans, can devolve ourselves to become more rooted into Earth: to understand ourselves as part of the landscape around us and, as such, deepen our relationship to the places we call home. I listen to the wisdom of First Nations and Indigenous Elders - those who I feel help us to deepen our relationship to our inner compasses and our North Star; those that guide us back to the Garden of our Hearts.
